Privacy policy

This page explains what stays in your browser, how visits are measured and how to ask about information you send to TurkiyeNames.

TurkiyeNames is a static website with no user accounts. Your favourites and preferences stay in your browser. If you email us, we use your message only to reply and to correct name entries.

What information is stored or used?

  • Favourites and preferences

Your choices are saved in your browser’s localStorage. They are not linked to an account or synchronised across devices. Opening the site in another browser will not automatically bring those choices with you.

  • Cookieless page-view analytics

Our self-hosted page-view analytics uses no cookies and contains no personal data. It helps us understand how often pages are visited.

  • Possible Google Analytics use

Google Analytics may also be used. It uses cookies and is separate from our self-hosted, cookieless measurement. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on.

  • Emails you send

Messages sent to hello@turkiyenames.com are used only to reply to you and fix entries. We never publish personal details from correction emails.

How do I delete saved favourites and preferences?

  1. Find the site’s stored data

Open your browser settings and find the site data saved for turkiyenames.com. The wording and location of this setting vary between browsers.

  2. Clear local storage

Deleting the site’s stored data removes favourites and preferences from that browser. Clearing cookies alone may not remove localStorage in every browser.

  3. Check other browsers and devices

Repeat this process wherever you have saved choices. Because these settings stay in your browser, you need to remove them through the browser where they were saved.

How can I exercise my personal data rights?

Can I ask about information I have sent?

Yes. Article 11 of Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) gives you the right to ask whether your personal data is processed and request information about that processing. Email hello@turkiyenames.com.

How do I request correction or deletion?

Email the same address with enough context to locate your earlier message, such as its subject or date. Specify what you want corrected or deleted, without adding unnecessary personal information. Deletion requests are considered under the conditions set by the law.

Where can I confirm how the law applies?

Consult a lawyer to confirm how these rights apply to your circumstances. You can also find our contact details on the contact page.
