Guide
Reading Batman’s recent choices and population favourites
Popular baby names in Batman show both returning leaders and names close behind them. Comparing those results with the population tables reveals where a name leads across different categories, without explaining the backgrounds or beliefs of the people who bear it.
-
Asel leads among girls
According to TÜİK’s 2025 Batman province baby-name data, Asel leads with 101, followed by Eflin with 95 and Zeynep with 87.
-
Yusuf leads among boys
TÜİK’s 2025 Batman province baby-name figures put Yusuf first with 108 and Miran next with 105.
-
Yusuf also leads the population list
According to TÜİK’s 2025 Batman province population data, Yusuf leads male names with 7,682. Zeynep leads female names with 7,573.
When a name appears in different categories
According to TÜİK’s 2025 Batman province data, Yusuf leads both the boys’ baby-name table and the male population table, with 108 and 7,682 respectively. Those counts belong to different groups and should remain clearly labelled. Zeynep leads the female population table with 7,573, while Asel heads the girls’ baby-name list with 101. Explore Yusuf and Zeynep for dictionary information, and use the statistics guide to keep recent naming choices distinct from the distribution of names across the population.
Recognising returning leaders without assuming growth
TÜİK’s Batman province records place Asel first in the girls’ baby-name list from 2022 through 2025, with counts of 122, 151, 126 and 101 respectively. The leading position continues even though the count changes. Among boys, Yusuf leads in 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025; Miraç leads in 2020 and Muhammed in 2023. Read Asel alongside the 2025 baby-name overview, and consult the methodology before treating a repeated rank as a rising trend.
Exploring meanings and compound names
Batman’s tables provide several routes into the dictionary. Asel is Arabic in origin and means “honey, the sweet substance made by bees.” Yusuf has Hebrew and Arabic origins and means “may God add; may God increase.” Such meanings describe the names, without establishing a bearer’s religion or character. The boys’ table also lists Ömer Asaf and Muhammed Ali as complete entries. Use the double-name guide to explore names written together, keeping their listed counts separate from entries for individual names.
Comparing Batman’s name categories
- Label Yusuf’s baby-name count separately from its population count.
- Follow counts across years before describing a name as rising.
- Keep compound entries such as Muhammed Ali intact when comparing the table.
- Treat origin and meaning as information about a name, without inferring personal identity.
